Barbara also had a number of sports legends whose pets were frequent guests. In the mid 70's almost the entire Oriole pitching staff were regulars, including Hall of Famer Jim Palmer. The legendary Johnny Unitas was known to stop by just to see Barb's puppies.
Hereford Bed & Biscuit LLC, previously known as The Hereford Country Club for Pets, was founded by Barbara and Glenn Durst in 1972. In addition to providing boarding and grooming services, Barbara also raised Chow Chows. She had an amazing 56 home-bred Champions. Her dogs were known world wide.
Barbara retired in 1995 and the facility was leased for the next 18 years. In February 2013, major renovations took place and the facility - now know as HEREFORD BED & BISCUIT LLC - is being operated once again by the Durst family.

"My dog career started when I was 13. I've always had a love for animals. When given the opportunity to work in a boarding kennel at such a young age I jumped on board !
When I finished high school I began to explore the world of dog shows where I traveled the country with several different professional handlers. I gained a wealth of knowledge from these wonderful mentors and close friends whom I can call on at anytime for advice if needed.
The last ten years of my life has been dedicated to gaining as much knowledge as possible so that I may be able to grow my company into something great as well as lead my team in the right direction."
"When you do what you love, everyday is a great day!"
